    ITINERARY
    DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN FES — FREE AFTERNOON

    Pick-up from Fes airport. Transfer to your riad in or near the medina. Free afternoon to explore independently. Overnight in a riad.

    DAY 2: GUIDED WALKING TOUR OF FES MEDINA

    Full day with a specialist local guide in Fes el-Bali. Visit Bab Boujloud — the Blue Gate at the entrance to the old medina. Explore the medieval city on foot: the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine fountain, the Chouara Tanneries — viewed from above the vivid dye vats — and the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, the oldest continuously operating university in the world. Return to your riad for a free afternoon. Overnight in a riad.

    DAY 3: FES → IFRANE → CEDAR FOREST → MIDELT → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA → LUXURY CAMP

    After breakfast, drive south through the alpine town of Ifrane and the cedar forests near Azrou where Barbary macaques live freely. Lunch in Midelt. Drive through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the breathtaking Ziz Valley. Arrive at Merzouga. Switch to camels and cross the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset, pausing on a high dune for the magical desert colours.     DAY 4: MERZOUGA → RISSANI → ERFOUD → TODRA GORGES → DADES VALLEY

    Desert sunrise and breakfast. Return to Merzouga. Visit Rissani souk. Erfoud fossil marble workshop. Drive through palm groves to the Todra Gorges — a soaring 300-metre canyon. Walk through the gorge. Continue to the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

    DAY 5: DADES VALLEY → OUARZAZATE → AIT BEN HADDOU → HIGH ATLAS → MARRAKECH
