    ITINERARY
DAY 1: MARRAKECH → HIGH ATLAS → AIT BEN HADDOU → ROSE VALLEY → BOUMALNE DADES

Early pick-up from your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech. The road heads south through the fascinating High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, with stops for panoramic views of the breathtaking mountain landscapes and Berber villages along the route.

The first major stop is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou — a UNESCO World Heritage fortified village of extraordinary earthen architecture. The kasbah has appeared in numerous productions including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Continue to Ouarzazate — the “Gate of the Desert” — for a free lunch stop, then east through the Rose Valley and the great palm grove of Skoura before arriving in Boumalne Dades for the night.

DAY 2: DADES VALLEY → TODRA GORGES → MERZOUGA → CAMEL TREK → LUXURY CAMP

After breakfast, drive through the Dades Valley, stopping at a viewpoint to enjoy the spectacular landscape of the Dades Gorges. Continue to the Todra Gorges near Tinghir, where the Todra river has carved a magnificent red-walled canyon through the mountains. Wander freely through the gorge and appreciate its dramatic beauty.

Drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with a free lunch stop along the way. In the afternoon, arrive at the Merzouga Sahara desert. Switch to camels and cross the sandy dunes, pausing on a high dune to enjoy the magical sunset. Continue to the luxury desert camp, where the evening brings a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber drum music, and dancing around the campfire beneath a vast sky of stars. Dinner and overnight in camp.

    DAY 3: MERZOUGA → RISSANI → DRAA VALLEY → ANTI-ATLAS → OUARZAZATE → MARRAKECH

Rise early to watch the beautiful sunrise over the desert. After a warm Moroccan breakfast, return by camel or the camp’s 4×4 to Merzouga. Visit Rissani — well known for its large and lively traditional souk. Continue via Alnif and along the ancient Draa Valley, then cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass back to Marrakech. Drop-off at your accommodation.

Note: For those who prefer not to make the long return drive, the tour can alternatively end at Errachidia airport (2 hours from Merzouga), with a one-hour flight to Marrakech available (flight not included).
